What a Plumber Costs in Miami (2026)

How Miami plumbers price a visit

Most local companies charge in one of two ways. Some quote a flat price per job after a diagnosis: so much to clear a kitchen line, so much to replace a toilet wax ring. Others charge a service or trip fee to come out, then an hourly rate plus parts. Either way, a visit for something simple generally lands between about $150 and $450 in Miami, including the call-out. The ranges below are what local companies generally quote, not prices anyone here sets; the company that sees the job prices it.

Ranges for the common jobs

These are wide on purpose. A clog cleared through an accessible cleanout in twenty minutes and a clog that needs a toilet pulled at 9pm on a Sunday are both "drain cleaning". The table shows the usual spread and what tends to push a job to the top of it.

What pushes a Miami job up the range

The slab

Anything under the floor of a slab house costs more because concrete has to be cut, removed and patched, and tile lifted and replaced. Ask whether the quote includes restoring the floor or only the concrete, because that is often a separate trade.

The building

Condo work carries time that a house does not: booking the service elevator, parking, a certificate of insurance for the association, working in a closet above someone else's ceiling. In older towers, getting to a shared stack can involve opening walls in more than one unit.

The hour

After-hours, Sunday and holiday visits generally cost more, sometimes with a higher fee, sometimes as a multiplier on the hourly rate. Ask on the phone.

Permits

A water heater, a repipe or a sewer replacement needs a permit, and the permit fee and the time to meet the inspector are part of an honest quote. A quote that is cheaper because it leaves the permit out is not a saving.

What a fair quote should show

  • The diagnosis in plain words: what is wrong and where.
  • The method, for example cable, jetting, spot repair, lining or replacement.
  • Whether the permit is included, and who pulls it.
  • Concrete, tile and drywall: included, patched only, or excluded.
  • The warranty on labour and on parts, in writing.
  • For anything over a few thousand dollars, the camera footage or leak report it is based on.

When the cheapest option costs more

Clearing the same main line three times in a year costs more than the camera inspection that would have shown it was broken. Repairing the third pinhole leak in a slab line costs a third of a repipe each time. Paying for the diagnostic step is often the cheapest choice on a Miami house older than the 1970s.

Common questions

Why won’t a plumber give me a firm price on the phone?

For a simple fixture repair many will give a range. For anything behind a wall, under a slab or in a sewer line, the price depends on what they find, and a firm number sight unseen is either padded or will change at the door.

Does the Miami call-out fee come off the final bill?

Some companies roll it into the job if you go ahead; others charge it separately. Ask before they come out.

Are prices higher in Miami Beach or Brickell?

Not because of the ZIP itself, but condo access, parking and building rules add time, and time is what you are paying for.
